Or why was I not hidden like a stillborn child,
Like infants who never saw light?
Continuing the 3:16 series…..
We all have a huge amount of sympathy for poor old Job! Could you ever go through such terror as this? You can’t blame him for wishing he had never been born. After seeing his entire family wiped out, while he’s grieving he gets hit with physical pain and suffering himself.
I sprained my ankle last night, and so have to keep it up and rest it today, that seems frustrating enough, as I sit and think, what would it be like even if my child got a serious illness? I’ve faced a cancer scare myself but I could well imagine it’s so different when it’s your child in danger.
In all honesty though Job had only 2 options, 1. He could curse God and turn his back on Him, or 2. He could trust God and continue in his relationship with Him and ask for strength.
The important thing here is that Job never actually curses God, he does curse his birth, but does not fall in to the trap that Satan had set up for him.
So what we should be learning from Job is that even though he went through more pain and suffering than we could ever imagine. (Just like Brother Yun) He never cursed God, are you guilty of cursing/blaming God? In every situation in every trial and struggle we can count it all joy (James 1:2-8) also when we ask for God to make us strong in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-11) He will!
So guys what ever you are facing, there is hope, Job found hope, the apostles after Jesus died found hope, men through the centuries have found hope, I have found hope, and you will find hope also when you put your trust in Him and ask Him to strengthen you.
Talk to God! What ever you are facing – talk with him! He will answer.
