Wow I did a new (relatively new) personality test recently it’s one that breaks us down to 3 colours, red blue and green we all have elements of each colour but we all have a different ratio and it makes us unique particularly in the way we deal with people.
A couple of years ago I did this test in a time of uncertainty and frustration spiritually and professionaly. And my scores came out at 14 blue 13 red 9 green. This time and although things are not yet clearly certain and there has already been some turmoil in our private life this year I do feel I’m in a better place and so answered probably more true. My scores came out 18 red 10 green and 8 blue. This was quite a change!!
To contextualise very simply for you this colour scheme basically states that greens like to engage people ‘just because they like people’. Blues like to engage people ‘because they want to improve people’. Reds engage people because they want to lead people.
All of these reasons are valid and important and there is MUCH more to the testing than that! Now that I’ve been leading in ministry for a year, (before I was assisting some one) and if you lead something you will know the two are very different! I have become frustrated that I have lots of good ideas, start things off but then don’t have the follow through sometimes to see them through to the real win, this is a red trait. I had thought I was more a blue and so I thought I was just failing!
But now I’m realising, hang on – I’m actually higher red than any other colour and this that I couln’t understand why I was doing – is a red trait! Yes I need to try and grow but also I need to find detailed people to come along my ideas and desire to start new adventures.
Realising who I am more and getting some knowledge on it has released me to give my self an easier time. Will help the people I lead understand me more and encourage me to bring the right people along on my adventures!
I’d highly recommend you seek more understanding on personality profiling it could just be the release you need!
