A clear reminder this morning on my cycle to work that we should always try to prioritise people over saving time.
I used to take a route to work that takes me a more scenic off road route but was perhaps 5mins longer than the scenic road route I’ve started taking recently. The only advantage is a few mins, the ride isn’t even nicer.
This morning I went the longer way, as the scenic road has been closed the last 2 days for tree clearing – I’m sure they are finished by today. But something compelled me to take the other route even though I was running a little late.
On that route I saw a guy i’d been mentoring and I’ve not seen for a while, we were able to connect briefly and plan a new catch up. Exactly what was needful, something I’d been hoping would happen. Maybe it could of sooner if I’d taken the longer route which has more people on it.
The only thing we can take to heaven with us is people. Yet we miss out opportunities for the sake of 5 minutes or a few bucks!
How can you prioritise people in the small things?
