Our identity and value should not come from what we do or what others think of us. But it should come by the core roles of life that of being a Son. A husband and a Father.
My name is Andrew Smallridge I am a Son a Father and a Husband, these are the primary roles that get me excited about this life and that is what this site is all about.
I have a 12 year old son, a 10 year old daughter and a 8 year old daughter and a 2 year old little girl. Mwaka and I have been married 15 years, I am from England and Mwaka From Tanzania via South Africa and so our cultures and experiences have been so different! In our first year together we both came back to Christ and since then He has been helping us to love one another in the right ways, healing up the hurts of our pasts and showing us what love is.
Marriage is our greatest joy and we believe a couples greatest gift to the world – as couples we have an opportunity to share the love that God has given our marriage not only with our children and family but the wider community around us. Even allowing our marriage and our vibrant love for one another to be a beacon for others!
In rather miraculous ways in 2008 God allowed Mwaka and I to move together to the UK and to marry when all hope of that seemed lost, God used a Tanzanian Pastor named Wilfred to make our relationship possible, after God had told him to help so that we could be married. Since then we have had the joy of 12 years growing and starting a family together, as well as going through Bible College together, running a youth ministry very much together and now doing Pastoral ministry in our local Church in Bristol – Carmel City Church (www.carmelcitychurch.org)
My passion is to see the ‘Father’s Heart’ be manifest in every person, I believe God has given me a mandate to teach the ‘Millennial’ and ‘Generation Z’s’ what it means to be ‘Beloved’ and to know the true heart of the Father – so that they can be true Son’s, Fathers and Husbands. To this aim I begin with this blog.
