Create in me a clean heart to love my wife unconditionally

This verse taken from … Psalm 51, a psalm King David penned / spoke after commuting adultery with Bathsheba.

It speaks in verse 3 of how sinful we are from birth. How are sins are sins against God. And please for God’s cleansing.

The is God we are now under a new and better covenant and pur sin even though still present beachside of our sin nature is completely forgiven because of the precious blood of Jesus.

Yet my heart can often be dirty it can often be not what I would want it to be and if my time with the Lord is not ‘real’ and meaningful it can lead to discretion of the heart that I would not imagine and ever want.

Of course we have to take each of these thoughts captive when they come and we have to have time with the Lord each new day to fix our eyes on Him.

But it should be a real cry of our hearts for the Lord to create a clean heart in us.
As much as I  really love wife some times I allow my heart to be heard towards her.

I allow some selfishness in some frustration at times often over petty things. And so my heart in these times becomes contaminated towards her, to the one I love the most and yet because I value her love to much and not depend enough on the love of Christ.

So I ask that one that I truly live the most my Lord to create in me that clean pure heart and the best way to do that is to focus on the love that my Saviour offers me freely and always.

When I realise this agape love, I have a chance of offering it to my wife. Often for me especially during this crazy year. I have found this perspective on a lone prayer walk, where I cry out, pray and sing to my God and allow the surgery of recreation to occur.
